Claire Highton-Stevenson is a UK based award winning author whose debut novel released in 2017. She donates a portion of all her income from her highly acclaimed books, The Promise and Escape & Freedom, to two cancer charities. Claire is an award winning photographer who also loves to travel and is an avid Liverpool supporter.

Your 9th book, In Dyer Need: The First Chapter, comes out on 1st Oct. What was the inspiration for the story?

I am not sure… I do love those end of world films, so I suppose that came into it a little, but the story just popped into my head and the end of world backdrop is only a very small part really, it’s a proper romance and Part two will be full of surprises!

What project are you currently working on?

The second part to this. I am editing it now.

Which author would you most like to meet?

Oh goodness, right now, all of them!

Which 5 people would you invite to a dinner party and why?

Barbra Streisand- I just love her, she is such an entertainer and I bet she has a lot of stories to tell.

Adele- That woman is hilarious!

Robbie Fowler- One of the best footballers ever to wear the Liverpool jersey!

Suranne Jones- Just so I could have Anne Lister there, and maybe see if she fancied playing any of my characters in a film/Tv Show

Maggie Smith- Again, I imagine she has a lot of stories to tell.

Other than books, what is one item you can’t resist buying?

Sunglasses. It’s the only thing that I will justify outrageous amounts of money on. I adore my Ray-Ban Aviators.
