M L Tompsett lives in Victoria, Australia. She has been creating worlds to escape to since she was a little girl. Years later she is still enjoying her writing in her imaginative make-believe worlds with interesting characters.

Your sixth book, Insta Bride, was recently released to the public and is your first contemporary romance. What was the inspiration for the story?
I usually write paranormal fantasy and discovered the hard way with covid-19 surrounding us, my writing mojo failed and disappeared. It was March and my two WIP’s I had been working on, refused to go any further. I was in the shower when the a small piece of Insta Bride inspiration hit. I had been trying to work out if it would be another PNR book or not. Over the next few days the more I thought about it, and watched it play out in my head, the more I realised it had nothing to do with fantasy or paranormal. I started to write a brief outline until I ended up writing the whole book!

If you could be one of your characters – Who would you be? And why?
Missy – she is head strong and determined to do her own thing. I am similar. If I can do something myself I will and do it my way.

What is your favourite genre to read, and why?
I have always loved reading paranormal, I have since I was a kid. But now they are more paranormal fantasy romance. It’s probably why I write them also.

Outside of reading, what is something indulgent you do that makes you happy?
I love reading, listening to music – probably the old 80’s, 90’s stuff. Creating book covers. I get to play with different pictures and create something different from what the original pictured looked like. Spending time with my sons makes me happy. Drinking a cup of tea watching the sunset, or wine!
